LPA Fights Against Dehumanizing Events
LPA fully condemns the "Wolf of Wall Street Velcro Wall Midget Throwing Contests" wherever they occur. We are offended by these events. Along with other disability rights organizations, LPA protested and called for the removal of the dwarf tossing scene in "The Wolf of Wall Street", unfortunately without success. The glorification of dwarf tossing would be harmful enough if it only contributed to cultural stigma, but it also holds the potential to motivate serious bodily injury to members of the dwarfism community. We ask that the LPA community continue to raise their voice in opposition to and this event as well as any events in the future that do not show people with dwarfism full dignity and respect.
San Diego, California’s second largest city, is where blue skies watch over 70 miles of majestic coastline and a gentle Mediterranean climate and friendly locals create a welcoming feeling for all visitors.

The hotel is situated on the bay, bordering the Gaslamp Quarter, and is absolutely beautiful.
Rising from the 16 square-blocks are Victorian-era buildings and modern skyscrapers that stand side by side, housing more than 100 of the city's finest restaurants, pubs, nightclubs and retails shops, as well as offices and residential/work lofts. Downtown San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter is a veritable playground, rich with cultural offerings that include theatres, art galleries, symphony halls, concert venues and museums.
Baseball fans will enjoy Petco Park, where you can enjoy the game in sophisticated style in the Western Metal Building lounges, or take in the innings from the Park ball field with your kids. Fun with the family continues as you explore the whimsical and educational exhibitions at the New Children's Museum, climb aboard the U.S.S. Midway Museum, visit the candy store in Seaport Village or catch the Trolley for a quick ride to Balboa Park and the San Diego Zoo.
*Offsite events and special events will be added during the planning process.
Off-Site Events: (Events may be organized as a group within LPA or on your own. Events are TBD.)
