Host an LPA Bowl-a-thon for National Dwarfism Awareness Month
“Have a ball bowling for LPA!”

Chapter Officers, District Directors and Members of LPA - LPA is running a brand new program for Dwarfism Awareness Month this year. We invite all interested chapters, districts and members to organize a fun bowl-a-thon to benefit your local group and the national organization!

The Bowl-a-thon is a fun way for the dwarfism community to come together in person locally and in spirit across the United States while raising funds for LPA and our programs. LPA depends on dues and donations from its members and friends to continue to operate basic programs, and will use the bowl-a-thon to support our ongoing projects and new initiatives. All of the money that you collect will help keep LPA moving forward.

Purpose:
1. Raise awareness about dwarfism. The bowl-a-thon is a great opportunity for positive outreach and media opportunities.
2. Raise funds for the chapter and for LPA National.
3. Foster friendships and fellowship within LPA and our communities.

How to do it:
1. Designate someone from the chapter or district to be your Team Leader.
2. Pick a day in October and hold a bowl-a-thon at your local bowling alley.
3. Collect donations via cash, check or your own FirstGiving page. Create or join your Personal/Chapter/District Team Page at FirstGiving.com/5224. Look for the words “LPA Bowl-a-thon for Dwarfism Awareness Month” on the right side of the page.  Or create a log-in and build your own FirstGiving page for your chapter, district or family if one has not been made already.  An example of a chapters event page is here: https://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/joanna-campbell-3/OBCbowl.  To collect checks and cash for in-person donations, download this Pledge Form.
4. Chapter and district organized events split any funds raised minus their expenses 50/50 with the national organization.

Where will the money raised go?
Money raised will support LPA’s programs and services including adoption, Kitchens Fund for First time Attendees, college scholarships, archives, the LPA Today, and more.
